The Swainsboro Bypass wraps around the western edge of Swainsboro giving easy and quick access to all points in the City. South of Swainsboro the Bypass is tied to a new four-lane, divided highway which connects U.S.1 to I-16. This 15 mile stretch gives  motorist and truckers outstanding access to Savannah, Macon, Atlanta and the nation's interstate network.

With a 6,000 ft. runway and a new terminal building, Swainsboro Airport offers airport tours, airplane rides, charter flights, aircraft rentals, flight instruction, full piston and turbine maintenance. ILS will soon be available. Pilots will find T-hangers, corporate hangers, aviation fuel, ground power service, ground air conditioning service, pilot's lounge, wireless Internet and up-to-date weather reports. From Savannah and I-95:  From Downtown Savannah take I-16 West. Pass under I-95 bridge, continue on for approximately 80 miles. Take Exit 90. At end of ramp, turn right on U.S. 1 North. Go approximately 16 miles. Look for U.S. 1 Business District sign, turn right go 3 miles. Welcome to Swainsboro! For downtown area, drive straight ahead for 2 miles. 

From Macon I-16 and Atlanta I-75: From Atlanta take I-75 South to Macon. Look for signs to I-16 East toward Savannah. Once on I-16 travel approximately 78 miles. Take Exit 78. At end of ramp, turn left on Ga. 221. Go approximately 2 miles, turn right on to Ga. Hwy 56. Travel 13 miles, crossing over Swainsboro Bypass. Go through four-way stop and proceed through next caution light. At second red light turn left on to U.S. 1 North. Go one block. Welcome to Downtown Swainsboro.
