East Georgia College Vision Series--This year-round series of events is unique for a small community such as ours. Notable authors, people of interest, business titans, symphony and choral presentations make this the highlight of cultural activities in the area. Former President Jimmy Carter, U.N. Ambassador Andrew Young, best-selling author of Midnight In The Garden of Good and Evil, John Berendt, the Augusta Symphony and Chairman and CEO Emeritus of Georgia Pacific Corporation and A.D. "Pete" Correll are recent guest. Vision Series events are held in the auditorium of the Luck Flanders Gambrell Center located on campus. Events are free to the public. Gallery RFD-- Gallery RFD is located at 106 Green Street in Downtown Swainsboro. The goal of the organization is to promote economic enrichment in rural communities through the arts. The Gallery hosts twelve original art exhibitions a year exploring diverse, challenging and pertinent subject matter. The Gallery also creates original educational programming for elementary and middle school students. Art Stroll--Art Stroll is held at twilight on the second Saturday of each month to view artwork and enjoy the downtown area. A number of local shops and businesses stay open late to exhibit works within their businesses. Wine, cheese, beverages and food make for a delightful evening. Arts in the Woods- Local artists display their unique work in this non-traditional art exhibition. Usually lasting from dawn to dusk in late March, this show is held outdoors and incorporates storytelling, art installations, music and the performing arts for an unforgettable experience.
