"Where Main Streets Meet" is not only the official motto of the City of Swainsboro but also denotes the location of City Hall. The Mayor's office and other city offices can be found at 101 West Main Street at the intersection of U.S.1 and U.S. 80.

Swainsboro City Council has a mayor, and six city councilmen representing each ward in the city. A city administrator handles daily operations which provide services such as police protection, fire protection, streets and sanitation, recreation, airport to city residents.
