The FFA Forestry Field Day was held at the Swainsboro-Emanuel County Recreation Department on Thursday, May 4th. This event is sponsored by the Swainsboro-Emanuel County Chamber of Commerce and Mill Creek Foundation and is part of the official event schedule of the Pine Tree Festival each year. This year, 12 junior teams and 12 senior teams competed in ten different event categories with 350 students competing. The Georgia Forestry Commission had over 20 volunteers assisting in the events throughout the day. The newly-crowned 2023 Miss Pine Tree Festival was present to hand out awards.
The Overall First Place Senior Team was Wheeler County High School, and the Overall First Place Junior Team was Pierce County Middle School!
The Overall Second Place Senior and Junior Team was Banks County High School and Middle School!
The Overall Third Place Senior Team was Brantley County, and the Overall Third Place Junior Team was Wheeler County High School!
