On Wednesday, October 19th, the 2022 Leadership Emanuel class met at the Fulford Center and had a session on enabling others to act by creating places and opportunities for informal interactions, enriching people’s jobs, and offering visible support. The class headed out to the Richard L. Brown Industrial Park for a tour of American Steel Products, a manufacturer of prison doors, door frames, windows, control stations, guard towers, and other security products for the construction and renovation of detention facilities. The day concluded at Nordson Corporation where the group was educated on what is manufactured at the local division. Nordson hot melt machines and adhesive dispensing systems apply adhesives, sealants, and coatings in a variety of patterns to consumer and industrial products in packaging, product assembly, and nonwoven applications.

Leadership Emanuel is a program sponsored by the Swainsboro-Emanuel County Chamber of Commerce and funded in part by the Millcreek Foundation. Its intent is to build better, more informed leaders in our community through a series of sessions emphasizing practices of exemplary leadership, business and industry tours, and group discussions on issues facing our community both now and in the future. The sessions meet at various locations throughout our county allowing the participants to experience the opportunities available, better equipping them to be more effective leaders for the future.
