The Cakery on the Square was opened in 2021 by Joe and Michelle Bedgood as an extension of Simply Sweet Bakery in Adrian which has been in business since 2005. They began their wholesale business in 2005 as a way for Michelle to be able to homeschool their children. The Bedgoods have been blessed through the years with amazing customers and support and felt led to open a retail storefront in 2021. Originally, they planned to only offer baked goods and catering, but they expanded the menu to offer lunch and other grab-and-go items. The Cakery has a wide variety of offerings including baked goods, cakes, casseroles, lunches, grab-and-go items, catering, and RADA cutlery. They offer on-site and off-site catering and host holiday parties, showers, and other events. A lot of their recipes have been passed down through several generations. The Bedgoods love that they can offer cakes and other products that remind customers of their grandmothers and great-grandmothers.
The Cakery on the Square loves being involved in the community, and they always try to have a positive impact on the world around them. Pouring into the community and their neighbors is very important to them. The Cakery is a Chamber member because it keeps them connected with other businesses as well as the community.
